Yang Zhaohua, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation and President of China Household Textile Industry Association, said at the first China (International) textile shading and energy-saving technology summit forum held in Hangzhou on the 10th that after more than a year's efforts, the outline of the 13th five year plan for the development of China's home textile industry has been formulated. In the next five years, China's home textile industry, as one of the three terminal industries of textile, will become "China's traditional people's livelihood industry, a creative industry integrating science and technology and art, and a fashion industry creating a better life", playing an important role in stimulating domestic demand, promoting employment, building ecological civilization, etc.
He said that during the 13th Five Year Plan period, the growth goals of the home textile industry are: the average annual growth of main income is 5.5%, the average annual growth of export is 3.2%, and the average annual growth of fiber consumption is 1.68%; The goal of scientific and technological innovation is to improve labor efficiency by 10%, widely adopt Internet technology and improve the degree of automation.
Weng Maozhong, vice chairman of Taiwan textile industry development exhibition, said that after decades of development and growth, Taiwan's textile industry has become the most complete production system in Taiwan's industrial structure, and energy-saving and environment-friendly textiles are especially valued by foreign buyers. Taiwan's textile industry is still the fourth largest foreign exchange earning industry in Taiwan. In 2015, the export value of Taiwan's textile industry was US $10.803 billion, of which energy-saving textiles accounted for 68% of the total export textiles, which is highly competitive in the market.
He said that the current development direction of Taiwan's household textiles is to use cutting-edge technology to improve the added value of products, closely combine tradition and high technology in the textile industry, and especially take environment-friendly and energy-saving textiles as the main development direction.

In the 21st century, the application of functional household textiles has become more and more common. In European and American developed countries, "future textiles" has been promoted to the level of national strategy. The textile industry, once synonymous with "tradition", has gradually been combined with new concepts such as new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, smart furniture and so on. Functional household textiles with the characteristics of environmental protection, energy saving, air permeability, flame retardancy, sound insulation, heat insulation, ultraviolet protection, antibacterial, mildew and deodorization, radiation protection, antistatic and waterproof are emerging in the Chinese market. It is believed that functional household textiles will bring great changes to cities, industries and human life.
Sun Yuehua said that although functional household textiles are a very small "cake" in Chinese household textiles, with the in-depth understanding of functional textiles by the Chinese people, we can make this "cake" bigger, stronger and better, and the market prospect is very optimistic.
